KATYA KOTEFF, CPA
Katya visited Alaska for the first time in 2006. What was to be a summer trip turned into a life long adventure. She later studied at UAA and worked as an auditor for Mikunda, Cottrell, and Co, CPAs, Inc (now BDO LLP). In 2012 she transitioned to her own practice.
She has chosen to focus her practice on serving the non-profit sector because she admires the great work people do to preserve our beautiful state and to support, strengthen, and educate our community. Working with clients on structuring and maintaining financial records in a way that meets a non-profit's unique reporting needs, communicating effectively with their Boards, and providing financial training empowers her clients in achieving what is most important - their missions. She celebrate her clients' successes and is proud to work by their side.
As an Alaska lover, she spends her free time outdoors. You can often find her ice-skating with husband and kids at Westchester lagoon, skiing Hilltop trails, or putting new sledding routes along the Powerline Pass. No summer goes without fishing at Chitina, kayaking at Resurrection Bay, or hiking and biking local trails. Alaska has so much to offer and she is proud to call it her home.
